In keeping with MWR’s ongoing efforts to make the site more user-friendly, they have added two new members to their growing team of e-commerce marketing professionals. Creative Director, graphic designer and front-end developer specialist, Roxanne Theodoroff, and programmer Tom Mintun – both of Nox Graphics – have joined the MWR team. Together they bring a wealth of experience in web development, design and analytics, as well as expertise in HTML, concept development, corporate branding strategy and search engine optimization (SEO).

One of the leading retail jewelers in the industry, Mens-Wedding-Rings.com is always improving the look and usability of its website, making it easier for customers to find exactly what they are looking for. Having already made several improvements to the website earlier this year, co-owner Roy Devine is happy to announce a stepped-up effort that will take Mens-Wedding-Rings.com to a whole new level. “Bringing Roxanne and Tom on board from Nox Graphics is an exciting step in the company’s growth and we look forward to benefitting from their depth of knowledge and experience,” says Mr. Devine.

“This is the most significant update to Exposure since its creation,” said Tom Welsh, the designer of Exposure. “Across the board everything is faster and much easier to use.”

Exposure brings all the creative tools of film photography to the world of digital, such as discontinued films, dark room tricks, and lo-fi camera quirks. Popular classic films are accurately simulated, like Kodachrome, Polaroid, and Panatomic-X. Exposure reproduces the ethereal glow of black & white infrared film, and now color infrared.

New texture overlay effects are built from high resolution photos of light leaks, dust and scratches, and borders. This helps add detail to new presets for alternative photographic processes like cyanotype, lith printing, and wet plate photography.

Exposure 4 has a completely redesigned user interface and new controls that help you quickly explore its wide range of effects or develop your own custom looks. Black & White and Color Film are now combined into one filter so everything is in one place. The new text search lets you instantly explore hundreds of presets. Simply mouse over one to see a thumbnail preview.

Photoshop For Tablet PCs And Phones

Adobe is working hard on a complex version of the Photoshop program that can run on Tablet PCs and mobile phones. Kevin Lynch, Adobe CTO, recently demonstrated the Adobe Max conference two applications (which are still in concept stage) involving the Tablet PC and connect to a secondary display to get more display space. People from Adobe are considering both independent applications for Tablet PCs, and applications such as “companion” to grow with your mobile device the performance of Photoshop running on an ordinary PC.

Not all software upgrades have enough reasons to do so

When a company updates software, for whom is the update targeted? I’ve been thinking about this lately, as several updates to major products.

When a company updates software, for whom is the update targeted?

I’ve been thinking about this lately, as several updates to major products have appeared this year. Obviously, a company wants to attract new customers. But how much effort goes into persuading current customers to upgrade?

First case in point: Microsoft has unveiled Office 2011 for Mac, which will be available Oct. 26. New features in Word — one of the oldest pieces of Mac software not created by Apple — include a full-screen view to remove distractions, the Office ribbon for viewing toolbars and options, a better way to manage layers of elements in the Publishing Layout view, and, my favorite, much faster launch time and generally snappier performance.

Neat. After all, pretty much all of the word-processing features one could ask for have been in the program for quite some time.

So what does Word 2011 offer the longtime Word user? For some people, the reappearance of Visual Basic is reason enough to upgrade.

The All-new Photoshop site and Mobile application for iPhone

Updates for the Photoshop Express online photo tool has been released last Wednesday and it comes not only with one improvement but a lot of important features as well.

The main improvement to the site of Photoshop is that instead of making users register so they can edit their photos in the site, they are no longer required to make an account which removes the hassle of being able to edit pictures in the site. Even downloading the edited photos do not require information from the user. Moreover, the tools are now organized with their own units. It also allows them to develop modules of the software which is Photoshop Lightroom.

Themes can now be customized in the new site of Photoshop and by default, the theme is “Midnight”. It has a one colored background. Plus subscribers can avail of the 40 themes and extra storage. Moreover, they are entitled to more photo editing effects.

Photos edited through the Photoshop Express online photo tool can be easily uploaded to Facebook and Twitter which also allows other people to comment them. This helps people be more interactive with one another.

Another improvement of Adobe with regard to photo editing is their photo-editting application for Android services. This device for mobile phones allow videos to be played in an application whether they were uploaded from a mobile phone or a computer. It also developed how people will upload photos from the application to Facebook.

Adobe is working out on new improvements for many scenes like photo editors which are in a great competition with sites like Picnik. Picnik was acquired by Google during the early part of this year. Other sites that are competing with the online photoshop are Fotoflexer and Aviary. These sites benefit so much from the Adobe Flash.
