AntiVirus Trojan warning a false alarm

We’ve been made aware that certain Antivirus systems are issuing alerts to users accessing the Times website. We have investigated the matter and can assure you that this is a false alarm.

Certain antivirus software is detecting that a JavaScript file from Nielsen Online’s tracking code, which audits site traffic on The Times site, is erroneously being flagged as a virus or Trojan horse program.

We have been advised by Nielsen Online that they are in the process of rectifying this and the problem should be resolved shortly. Please continue to access the site as normal.
