MacScan adds Firefox 3 support

SecureMac on Wednesday announced the release of MacScan 2.6, its anti-spyware software for Mac OS X. It costs $29.99, and MacScan 2.6 is a free update for registered 2.x users.

MacScan helps to protect Macs against spyware and “Internet-related clutter” by detecting, isolating and removing offending files and software. It detects over 8,000 blacklisted tracking cookies used by spyware Web sites, will schedule automated scans and works using definition files that are updated for free.

New to the 2.6 release is support for Firefox 3, the very latest version of the popular Web browser, an improved user interface, the latest spyware definitions an an updated tracking cookie blacklist.
